Casino Security and Fairness of Money Transactions
How does casino security work and are money transactions secure? People who are new to casinos may have this question in mind, so here we will see more about it.
Casino security is broken down into two distinct sections. It must be stressed that the two sections work in total harmony. They do not operate as independent entities. Firstly casinos are staffed by Security Personnel and the second security measure is by Closed Circuit Television (video) security.
There is normally a small army of uniformed and non-uniformed personnel employed by the casino. Their function is to protect the assets of the casino and the players, to guard against theft from the casino and its clientele. They also protect the casino against fraud by monitoring all players. Many casinos now have glass ceilings that are glazed in one way glass. Above the ceiling are walkways where security personnel patrol monitoring the activities on the gambling floor below them. This allows observation from an elevated angle giving a different perspective of the gaming floor. This assists in the fight against cheating.
Non-uniformed security personnel are like store detectives. They are highly trained in observation techniques. It is their duty to alert uniformed personnel should they suspect that a player is attempting to defraud the casino or steal from another player.
Closed Circuit Television
Closed circuit television is the other section of casino security. There is a control room behind the scenes which is manned by highly trained observers. The closed circuit television system is known as “the eye in the sky”. It is the duty of the observers in the control room to alert the uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of any suspicious activities they see. The control room records all activities under its control. The recordings are made to be used in court should there be any charges brought against a player.
They also monitor the uniformed and non-uniformed personnel to check for collusion with a player or players. The monitoring takes place behind the scenes as well. The access ways to the vault and the vault itself are also monitored and recorded. All cash is either stored in the vault or in “cages”. Cages are cash offices, on the gaming floor, that are highly fortified. All personnel are fitted with receiving and transmitting devices so that they can remain in constant contact.
The two sections work hand in glove. They cannot succeed as individual entities and are totally reliant on each other. When a player leaves the casino the security responsibility of the casino stops outside the exit doors.
Wonderful invention of the casinos in Las Vegas. They inscribe in it everybody, who was brave enough to cheat and win millions on that but later was caught red-handed, imprisoned and nobody wants to see him/her in the house.
