Extra Betting Options in Roulette Games
Roulette is one of the most popular games played in casinos, especially in the United States based casinos. In this article, we will discuss about the extra betting options in Roulette games that you may not be familiar with.
Even though Roulette is an old game, players in both American and European casinos still find it interesting and thrilling to play. Roulette can be played with different rules that affect the way a player bets. While some rules enforce and encourage players to bet more, others make it more difficult and restrict the amount that can be bet in the first few rounds. Betting rules allow the house to keep its edge, and in American roulette, the house has an edge of 7.8%.
American Casinos and Their Bets
Each casino has its own limits as to what a player is allowed to bet. You need to be aware of the limits before entering a casino or sitting at a table as most casinos do not display rules. A player has many options when it comes to betting, and there are slight differences between the different casino types in the different continents.
For example, in American casinos the wheel has an extra number, double zero or 00. The double zero gives the casino a higher edge of 7.8%, but also opens up the possibility of a player betting on another set of numbers like the 0, 00,1,2,3. This is not recommended as it gives the casino a higher edge of 9.6%. More opportunities to bet can result in increased odds of losing.
Outside and Inside Bets
A player may place inside or outside bets. Inside bets raise the stakes and include higher payouts. The player has better odds when placing an outside bet, but the overall payouts are smaller, evening up the score. With outside bets the player can cover more numbers, but the smaller payout nullifies the edge.
A player can place as many bets as desired until the dealer has said the phrase, “no more bets.” Bets can be placed on lines, meaning that the player can place a single bet on two different numbers. If one of the numbers occurs, the player wins half of the bet, resulting in a small profit.
The payout in roulette is calculated by:
Payout = 1/n (36 – n) = 36/n – 1
Here ‘n’ is the number of squares that the player is betting on.
Wonderful invention of the casinos in Las Vegas. They inscribe in it everybody, who was brave enough to cheat and win millions on that but later was caught red-handed, imprisoned and nobody wants to see him/her in the house.
